Your side of it

It takes courage to come to psychotherapy, How you deal with your current situation or difficulty usually depends on changing to a different way of being or doing. But it takes courage to change. It takes courage to overcome fear. It’s much easier to blame or demand change from others.

We all have a blind spot. It’s much easier to see the faults in others. But beware. When we really dislike someone or some aspect of them, it’s usually something we share with them.

A major input from a client is commitment.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness…the moment one definitely commits oneself…all sorts of things occur to help one that would not otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man would have dreamed would have come his way. What ever you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.
Begin it now“.

“I wanted to change the world, but I have found that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself” Aldous Huxley
